FOUR PUZZLES ABOUT LIFE

PUZZLE (b)
PRODUCTIVITY AS A MEASURE OF WORTHINESS.

“I measure my worth by my productivity.  True or False?”

Conventional productivity criteria could be – most oftenly are – confining and too demanding, tilted and tailored to self serve.  As such, they are likely to inhibit productivity rather than boost and augment.  Boxing yourself up and striving for perfection is frequently a self-defeating course of action.  This state of mind commonly  does away with creativity and oftenly depletes the joy of being.  Remember, any meaningful, fresh product blooms and flourishes in the open fields of creativity.  A mind that is free nourishes and nurtures your creativity and productivity.

A word of caution is hereby due lest we go too far and overestimate ourselves:  Humans, we are, we cannot create from nothing.  We create out of elements and ingredients already created, existing and made available to us.  From this firmament we paint, sculpture, script prose, spin verse, let free music notes, choreograph theater and dance and invent gadgets and construct machines.   Out of freedom of the mind, serenity dawns, permitting creativity to sprout human creations, oftenly splendid and majestic.

Radiating energy, wit and joy, helping the needy, caring for pets, protecting wildlife, trees, forests and environment, all are productivity.

Doing no harm is productivity.

Meditating and contemplating peace, empathy and compassion is productivity.

Recovering your health and well being is productivity.

Supporting art and artists is productivity.

WHY ARE THE ABOVE CONSIDERED PRODUCTIVITY ITEMS?

Reason being, these attitudes, actions and endeavors enhance life and living.  They help mend and rectify.  To every action there is a reaction,  similar in kind; magnitude might vary though.  In other words, you get back what you render and do, at times multiplied.  Options are yours.

It is cruel to measure worthiness by society’s yardsticks of productivity.  These criteria are oftenly selfish, harsh, materialistic and chauvinistic, thus overlooking the subtle, the most worthy and the far reaching.

So many people are considered unproductive by our conventional, ridiculous social standards.  Does this mean these people are unworthy?  Even if society deemed them so, knowingly and unknowingly they connect to others and others connect to them.  Good energies such as compassion, empathy, and love oftenly come out cleansing and calming the diabolical engines of the ego.

Your ego separates you from others.  Others being the universe, humming, evolving and ever changing and transforming.  Connecting to others – especially the wretched and the needy – the tender loving ear and eye of the mind will perceive what they receiveOur tender parts are awakened and energized.  These parts are beyond our ego’s domain.  They are our best parts. They help save us from anxiety, stress and ruthless, reckless competition.  They make a gentle, kinder world possible.
